    The Manchester Undergraduate Dental Research Society is delighted to host three incredible speakers from three different specialities! Our esteemed guests are:
    Dr Ahmed El-Angbawi – senior lecturer and consultant in orthodontics
    Dr Catherine Moshkun – speciality dentist in oral surgery
    Dr Hannah Walsh – speciality trainee in paediatric dentistry

    Join us as we learn how to get from student to specialist!
    Our speakers will discuss:
    – Their experiences and how they got to where they are
    – How to choose a speciality
    – What different options are available to specialise 
    – Which post-BDS exams and qualifications to do
    – Postgraduate degrees

    Want to understand the process of making a denture from start to finish? Learn techniques to take a great impression and how to assess it? Avoid common mistakes made by students
    learn how to manage patient expectations?

    Manchester Undergraduate Dental Research Society proudly introduces a brand new series, The Dental Fundamentals. The series aims to get you confident with treating patients and get you exam ready!

    The first Fundamentals talk will be all about dentures and we are delighted to have Dr Phil Dawson and Dr Mark Shupac delivering the talk and ready to answer all questions!

    Date: Tuesday 13th February
    Time: 5:15pm registration and refreshments, 5:30pm start
    Venue: Roscoe Building, Theatre B

    Topics to be covered include:
    – treatment planning
    – tips for taking the best impression
    – a brief guide to complete dentures
    – an overview of partial denture design and clinical stages
    – tips for general practice
    – troubleshooting and common problems

    We encourage you to bring your queries to the Q&A session that follows!

    Following the success of the Denture Fundamentals, Manchester Undergraduate Dental Research Society is delighted to present the second part in the series, the Endodontics Fundamentals!

    The fundamentals series aims to get you confident when treating patients and get you exam ready.

    We are delighted that Dr James Darcey will be delivering the session. Dr Darcey is a consultant at Manchester Dental Hospital and is on both the endodontic and restorative specialist lists.

    Topics to be covered include:
    – Getting the correct diagnosis
    – Treatment planning
    – Clinical tips to get the best results
    – An overview of treatment stages
    – Common problems and how to resolve them
    – Examples of cases

    This will be followed by a Q&A where we encourage you to bring queries to.

    DATE: Wednesday 28th February
    TIME: Registration and light refreshments from 5:15pm for prompt 5:30pm start
